Text: Matthew 1:18-25

Big Idea: The divine and prophetic fulfillment of the birth of Jesus Christ demands that we trust Him as our Savior. 

Outline:

1. Circumstances bear witness to Jesus’ divine identity (18-19)

2. The Angelic revelation bears witness to Jesus’ divine identity (20-21)

3. The fulfillment of prophecy bears witness to Jesus’ identity as Messiah (22-25)

Every year we experience sin, suffering, and evil in the world and in our own lives. The reality of humanity’s brokenness cannot be escaped no matter how hard we try. The curse of sin runs deep.

But love and grace run deeper. Though winter runs its course, the sunrise of Christ’s birth was the long-awaited dawning of redemption. Christmas is hope for the suffering sinner because it was the birth of our Suffering Savior.

Join us on December 22 at 9:25 am to remember and rejoice in the birth of Christ. He comes to make His blessings flow, far as the curse is found.

We would love to see you at our Christmas Eve service as we gather to remember the gift of Christ's love and prepare our hearts for Christmas Day. Invitations to our Christmas services are availible at the kiosk if you would like to use them to invite family, friends, or neighbors. The candlelight service will include singing and a brief devotional.

The last night of Kids' Connection before break will be Wednesday (12/11) from 6 - 7:15 pm.  After an extended break, Midweek Ministries will resume January 22, 2025. 

Youth Group will meet this Wednesday  from 6 - 7:30  pm for their annual Christmas party! After an extended break, midweek ministries will resume January 22, 2025. 

The last night of Adult Midweek Bible Study will meet this Wednesday (12/11) from 6 - 7:15 pm. After an extended break, Midweek Ministries will resume January 22, 2025.

General fund giving from last week was $16,074.00. In addition, $100 was given to the to General Mission and $157.45 to the Deacon's Fund. So far this financial year, our weekly average is $9,047.04, and our weekly need is $10,813.75. We praise God for His provision through your generosity.
